Meaning ‘land of the green grass’, Barmolloch is just 2 hours from Glasgow, situated halfway along Kilmichael Glen in magical Mid-Argyll, Scotland. This beautiful sanctuary for healing is hugged by nature, on beautiful grounds with a biodynamic smallholding and ancient woodlands nearby.
Mid-Argyll is a beautiful place for nature-lovers, history enthusiasts and those seeking deep relaxation, healing and renewal, surrounded by the rich beauty and nature of the land.
The adjacent Kilmartin Glen is one of Scotland’s richest prehistoric landscapes. Within six miles of Kilmartin village there are over 800 ancient monuments. The wild and remote Atlantic coastline offers empty golden beaches, rocky alcoves & complete tranquility.
Nearby Knapdale Forest spreads from coast to coast and it’s here that beavers have been reintroduced into Scotland. So if you or your guests want to combine your retreat with some local discovery and exploration, there’s plenty to see and do.
The training is taught through a five-day in-person immersion. There are no prerequisites or prior experience required. Once you complete the training and your case studies, you will be fully qualified and certified to practice. Case studies can be completed in as little as three weeks, with up to 12 months allowed for completion.
Our practitioner training is fully certified and recognised worldwide with IICT (International Institute Of Complementary Therapists). This recognition may support eligibility for professional insurance coverage, depending on your location and insurer requirements.
The investment for this training is GBP £2796.
Joanna Barnes is the Institute of Feminine Arts Associate Teacher for the UK and Europe and will be facilitating this course. She has been apprenticing in Womb Awakening with the Institute for the past five years and began facilitating Womb Hara Massage in 2024.
Class Times
ARRIVAL – you may arrive after 3pm THE DAY BEFORE the first day of training class times are 9-5pm each day.
DEPARTURE – we will finish around 3pm on the final day .
Transport
Barmolloch Farm
The farm and cottages are just 2 hour drive from Glasgow.
– Head west from Glasgow towards Loch Lomond and the A82.
– Pass through Arrochar and over the Rest and Be Thankful to join the A83.
– Drive past Inveraray and down the side of Loch Fyne until you arrive in
Lochgilphead. From there, head towards Oban on the A816, but turn right into
Bridgend/Kilmichael Glassary and then left in the village to follow the single-
track road through the glen until you arrive at the farm.
Public transport is also available from Glasgow and Oban to Lochgilphead via City Link bus.
Accomodation
The accommodation are cottages with shared bedrooms.
Bed linen and towels are provided.
The shared cottages have a kitchen to make your own teas and coffees,
the kitchens inc fridges if you need to store anything.
Food
-3 fresh homemade vegetarian meals served per day
Mostly organic ingredients, and locally sourced when possible.
Land
There’s a beautiful garden, hot tub, natural cold plunge, fire pit & meditation deck.
Barmolloch is not only a private home and retreat centre but also a home to a whole host of wildlife, free range animals. They are working towards biodynamic/permaculture organic gardening in large polytunnels to produce an array of healthy vegetables and fruit, they also share our space with rare-breed Boreray sheep, hens, geese, ducks, and bees.
What To Bring
Massage linen/or sarongs to use when practicing (more will be shared nearer to the training)
A thin muslin cloth to cover the buttocks for coccyx massage.
Pen and notepad
Comfortable loose clothing
Something special and personal to place on the altar
Ear plugs for sleeping in shared rooms
